Farrell\, MD – retired from the Children’s Advocacy Center of NEPA as a medical examiner in the evaluation of suspected child victims of abuse and neglect \nKim Kickline – Assistant Administrator\, Northampton County Children & Youth\n \nTuesday\, September 17\, 2024 – 6:30 to 8:30pm\, virtual \nYou will receive the link to this meeting after completing registration. Please see below. \nSCAN is a program of the PA Chapter\, American Academy of Pediatrics and is approved for Act 31. At the conclusion of this activity\, participants should be able to: \n\nIdentify the role of child protection \nDefine categories of child abuse in the law\nRecognize potential risks/indicators of child abuse/neglect\nDescribe role of mandated reporter\nExplain referral process and follow up\nUtilize prescribed reporting channels and processes to report suspected child abuse via telephone or the Internet.\n\nThis activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
